​​PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization)

The PTSO is a non-profit organization that exists for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The purpose of the PTSO is to enhance and support the educational experience at Westside, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement, to build community and facilitate partnerships, and to improve the environment at Westside K-8 through volunteer and financial support.

All parents and guardians of Westside K-8 students, teachers and all staff are eligible for membership in the PTSO.

​SAC (School Advisory Council)

The committee recommends and monitors policies, assists with the implementation of the school improvement plan, and designates funds to improve the school environment.

The SAC Committee meets the second Tuesday of the month at 4:45 p.m. at Westside K-8 media center.

Business Partnerships

In addition to providing financial assistance, Westside Business Partners also participates in school events and staff functions.

The Osceola School District's OASIS School Volunteer Program provides the opportunity for parents, businesses, and the community to enrich the education of students. OASIS volunteers extend teachers' and staffs' professional skills and assist teachers and staff in meeting the unique needs of each and every student. To ensure safe schools for our students, the Osceola School District conducts both local and national criminal history background checks at no cost to the applicant. ​Bookmark Buddies

​​Become a mentor and change a student's life. Mentor a third-grader once a week for 30 minutes and help improve his or her confidence, reading and love of learning. Training and materials provided. This program begins in the August/September and continues through March.
