Principal’s Message
Dear Westside K-8 School Community,
As we approach the 2025-2026 school year, I hope this message finds you enjoying a wonderful summer filled with relaxation and fun. We are excited to welcome both returning and new students to our vibrant school community.
Summer Enrollment: If you are new to Westside and haven't already, please take a moment to complete the enrollment process for the upcoming school year. Early enrollment helps us plan effectively and ensures that your child has a smooth start to the school year. If you have any questions or need assistance, our team is here to help.
Immunization Records: For families with incoming 7th grade students, it is crucial to update your child's immunization records. Florida law requires that all students entering 7th grade have up-to-date immunizations. This is essential for the health and safety of all students and staff. Please ensure that these records are submitted to the school office before the first day of school.
School Uniforms: Our school polo colors are navy blue, white, black, maroon, or gold. Pants, shorts, and skirts must be navy, black, khaki, or denim. All bottoms must be beyond fingertips. School spirit t-shirts are acceptable. Pullover sweatshirts, hoodies, or other outwear is not permitted if it does not fully unzip. All outwear garments must have a full-length zipper or buttons.
Athletic Physicals: We encourage all students interested in participating in sports to get their physicals done over the summer. A physical is required to try out for any sports team. This ensures that our student-athletes are in good health and ready to perform at their best.
Thank you for your attention to these important matters. We look forward to another fantastic year at Westside K-8, filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
Have a great summer!
Warm regards,
Janine Bracco
Principal
Westside K-8 School
As a Choice District, we allow parents to select the school they want their children to attend, as long as that school has capacity and program availability.
Each one of our public schools has a full-time sworn law enforcement officer serving as a School Resource Officer on campus every day.
Our students have highly-qualified, certified teachers who provide engaging, relevant, and rigorous instruction.
We offer a rigorous curriculum and systems of support, complete with college preparatory and career and technical education paths to meet the needs of every student.
Students have the opportunity to take high school credit courses in middle school and to earn college/postsecondary credit at no cost to parents while still in high school.
We offer courses that allow students to explore career interests, master workplace competencies, gain employable skills, and earn industry certifications and licensing upon graduation.
