Westside K8 School creates a student-centered learning environment in which students exhibit consistent academic and personal growth using problem solving strategies. Our school promotes a safe, caring and supportive environment that empowers students to self-advocate through motivation and determination to succeed academically and personally each academic year. We foster integrity, accountability, and responsibility. We encourage families and our community to partner in supporting academic and personal growth in all students.

Principal’s Message
Dear Westside K-8 Community,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I am thrilled to welcome our students, families, and staff back to what promises to be an incredible year of learning, growth, and celebration at Westside K-8.
This year, we are setting our sights high with four major goals that will guide our work and support every Warrior’s success towards earning an “A” school grade:
🎯 1. Attendance Matters
Every day counts! Students should not miss more than 10% of the school year. Consistent attendance is key to academic success, and we are committed to working with families to ensure students are present, engaged, and ready to learn each day.
🎯 2. Rigorous Academic opportunities
All students will engage with grade-level instructional content and differentiation to meet the needs of all learners.
📊 3. Student Data & Goal Setting
Our students will take ownership of their learning by setting personal growth goals and sharing their progress with teachers and families. Through regular reflection and data tracking, students will become confident, empowered learners who understand their journey and celebrate their achievements.
🏅 4. Celebrating Success
We are proud to announce that National Junior Honor Society and National Elementary Honor Society are coming to Westside this year! These prestigious programs will recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. We can’t wait to celebrate our outstanding Warriors!

We are also proud to continue our journey as an AVID school, where students will use focused note-taking strategies, interactive notebooks, and collaboration techniques to deepen their learning and prepare for future success.
