Our Mission

Our Vision

Westside K8 School creates a student-centered learning environment in which students exhibit consistent academic and personal growth using problem solving strategies. Our school promotes a safe, caring and supportive environment that empowers students to self-advocate through motivation and determination to succeed academically and personally each academic year. We foster integrity, accountability, and responsibility. We encourage families and our community to partner in supporting academic and personal growth in all students.

Our community at Westside K-8 strives to develop motivated students who self-advocate using strategies to solve problems and who experience consistent academic growth with integrity and determination.

Dear Westside Families and Incoming Families,

I hope this message finds you enjoying a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer. Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time, I want to extend my warmest welcome to the Westside K-8 community. We are already looking forward to an incredible school year ahead filled with learning, growth, and meaningful connections.

Summer is a wonderful time to rest and recharge—but it is also a valuable opportunity to keep young minds active. One of the most important things your child can do this summer is read every day. Even just 20 minutes of daily reading helps maintain skills, build vocabulary, and foster a lifelong love of learning. Encourage your child to explore books that interest them, visit your local library, or read together as a family.

For our new and incoming families, we are excited to welcome you to Westside K-8! To ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year, we strongly encourage you to complete the enrollment process as early as possible. Early enrollment allows our team to prepare schedules, finalize class placements, and make sure your child has everything in place for a confident and positive first day of school.

As we prepare for the upcoming year, our staff is committed to creating a supportive, engaging, and high-quality learning environment for every student. We value the partnership between school and home and look forward to working closely with you to support your child’s success.

Save the date! Meet the teacher will take place on Thursday, August 6, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Enjoy the remainder of your break, stay safe, keep reading, and we will see you soon!

Warm regards,
Janine Bracco
Principal, Westside K–8
